Guest Remarks

Below are some unsolicited recent reviews of our home. All of our guests appreciate the tips and recommendations regarding restaurants, shops, markets and sightseeing as it makes them feel more like a "local" than a tourist. (Last updated October 2009)

Thank you so much for the use of your wonderful home which added immeasurably to our enjoyment of this special part of France. We never tired of the spectacular view. I should mention that one of our most delightful discoveries about Villa Iris was that the Grande Randonnee 4 runs right next to it. Jean-Guy's children, who are avid hikers, took full advantage of the opportunities walking this trail and the trails linked to it.

Great House, Great Area, Great Vacation! Perfect vacation for 2 weeks with our friends from København and Malmø! Each couple had its own quarters and each with its own nice bathroom. We had breakfast and dinner on the panoramic terrace. The views are fantastisk. We spend a lot of time on the wonderful pool. What is great is that you can walk to the bakery for fresh croissants in the morning. The village grocery shop is cute. Thank you for all the information you gave us: places to see, restaurants and markets. But we did cook a lot - the kitchen is well equiped and the outdoor barbecue area great. You should mention more on your website about the large and beautiful garden. Also hiking is great in the area. En afslappende ferie!

Fabulous two weeks at Villa Iris. The villa is within the old part of the town but it was an easy 10 minute walk to the local shop, boulangerie, bar and restaurant. Villa Iris is ideally located to explore all the neighbouring sites, Orange, Avignon and Mont Ventoux but don't miss Vaison la Romain (great Tuesday market), Gigondas and Seguret.

The Villa was perfect for three couples with quite separate bedrooms and terraces but would also suit a family. Our hosts were great when we arrived allowing us in early and they explained everything thoroughly. If anything the website does not quite do it justice, great pool, dining area and BBQ all with views of Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles. We will return.

What a beautiful home! As the days went by we kept noticing more and more thoughtful details. These included the lavender alongside the pool, a kitchen with everything we could possibly need and decor that suited our time to relax and enjoy the beauty of your garden and the privacy of the house in all aspects. We hope to come back soon!

We loved your beautiful and well equipped house. The view from the terrace is wonderful. Thanks for providing so much useful information regarding shopping, dining and the region in general. We were totally enchanted with the area. The historic, cultural and culinary options are nearly limitless. And we really appreciated your kindness in providing start-up staples. We will come back!

We have never had a better experience booking a holiday home. I appreciated your prompt, courteous and efficient communications. The house has been like borrowing a friend's home rather than a rental. And what a house it is! Everything to ensure a comfortable and memorable experience. A spectacular corner of the world with comforts of home. Our thanks for your recommendations; all excellent.

Having holidayed in Provence frequently, one may be inclined to become a little blasé around such beauty... well, it just got better! Well, what a place you have, views to die for, a home to dream of, close to everything yet far enough away to be peaceful. You certainly did your homework before settling here ... thank you for allowing us to share in the results of all your hard work, our holiday has been fantastic !!! Because you have left it as "your home", it has felt like ours "home from home". Thank you.

and loads of great memories!

We have had a wonderful week staying at this beautiful house and really don't want to leave! We had great fun at the Cairanne Wine Festival and have explored far and wide. We particularly enjoyed the market at Vaison la Romaine and the medieval town across the bridge. The Troglodyte village was fascinating. Definitely hope to be back again. Thanks.

Again, we had a wonderful time at your house here in Cairanne. We enjoyed eating outside late in the evenings and of course to have some good wines. Hope to be back again.
